The Fondazione Filiberto e Bianca Menna, in collaboration with the Lavatoio Contumaciale of Rome, the Kyro Art Gallery of Pietrasanta, the Tomav Experience of Ancona, the Galleria Matteo Ragni of Forlì, and Bianco Contemporaneo of Rome, is delighted to announce the group exhibition Per via del tutto eccezionale [By way of exception] that will be held in the Roman headquarters of the Foundation, the Archivio Tomaso Binga in Via dei Monti di Pietralata 16, from 18 May to 28 June 2024, with works by Daniele Accossato, Tomaso Binga, Giuseppe Ciracì, Sabino De Nichilo, Ilaria Gasparroni, Isotta Giannetta, Luca Gilli, Milica Jancovic, Minus.log, Melissa Lohman, Luca Luchetti, Deborah Napolitano, Gino Sabatini Odoardi, Paolo Radi, Simoncini.Tangi, Giovanni Termini, Alessandro Turoni, Ciro Vitale and Narda Zapata.
Per via del tutto eccezionale is a project that focuses on the power of variety and exception, seen as an intense freedom of expression (the facere de materia [to make from matter] according to Tommaso) and as the moment in which the artist –the social aberrant capable of stepping outside the boundaries of political and social apathies – manifests his/her thoughts via a conclusive event that is the work of art open to the view of the spectator, who distends into new roads, new neighbourhoods, new thresholds of imagination and thought.
In the works of the nineteen intellectuals involved, each one is decidedly different and distant from the others, for poetry, linguistic code or modus operandi: the state of exception. A state explained as a distancing from common rules and the banality of the futile – it is determined by the desire to desire that which is desired and to reach, through study, a moment of exposure and suspension, within which one can sense all the capacity for development that pours out of the thought as ergon and energeia (work and operation), in form, gesture, material, emotional multiplication and the creative device.
