The exhibition preview starts at 6 p.m. on 12 April, presenting a new cycle of works that reflects on the ability of plants to create relationships and connections.

Starting from the quantum phenomenon of entanglement (a kind of pulsating enmeshment, interlacing and continuous interconnection or even concatenation between the various things of nature and culture), Simoncini.Tangi propose a project made up of links and interconnections that become new forms where natural and artificial realms live a relationship of interdependence, and where human intervention is not necessarily an end, but the beginning of something that unleashes new architectures.

Illuminated by a grazing light-effect, Dynamic fractals are a series of meticulously perforated cards that echo and repeat the geometric structure of the natural world (of fractals), whose chaotic and irregular networks are the foundation of the living universe.

Alongside this first apparatus of works, there are pieces on display that relate to three other interconnected cycles initiated by Simoncini.Tangi during a residency held at the Open Air Museum Italo Bolano (Elba 2024).

If with Souls – where brass plates left in contact with plants and natural elements capture the dissolution and metamorphosis of nature – there’s a feeling of playful superimposed layers, where time becomes an active sculptor; with Interlacement (also the title of the exhibition – Interlacement i.e. the interlacing of elements from different spheres of knowledge to create creative connections) the artists create interweavings of brass plates that represent networks, social, economic, neurological, biological, ecological, of an inevitably interconnected world, where the relationship between living and non-living forms a unique and all-encompassing landscape.

To finish, placed beside a series of leaves collected at the Viareggio pine forest in 2016 and printed on gold leaf (Tessuti vegetali), Looking is a set of sculptures made with coloured filters, photographic lenses, metal, seeds and other natural elements, which invites the viewer to look with greater awareness inside of nature, who is both mother and teacher as stated Leonardo da Vinci, and which never ceases to impress and amaze.

Simoncini.Tangi,
